"Maciej Woltman is above all a graphic designer. The love for paintings and posters permeates almost all of his works. It is a strong line, or curve - they build  mystery and provoke reflection. If we look more closely, we notice that Woltman neither copies reality nor faithfully represents reality, but  rather suggests and presumes. In his works , he reaches  deeper in his observations for dreams , desires, fears, experiences and turns them into a picture. Sometimes in a form of a poster, the other time, painting, drawing or mixed but always sensual, just Body and color. "

Dr. Michael Küenne

Stadt Stolzenau Germany

"For several decades, Woltman has been cultivating  painting focused on human and their body. The meaning of this long-term, even obsessive struggle with the body and its image remains ambiguous. Sometimes it is closer to a formal play, the aim of which is the perfectionism of the technique and flirtation with the most canonical works of the genre. Sometimes it focuses on erotic aura and desire, the sensual nature of life and the search for physical beauty. More often, however, it reveals the limitations and the fragility of human existence, contrasting phantasmatic, perfect bodies and icons of the collective imagination such as Venus de Milo with the bodies subjected to time pressures, pain and loneliness.

[...]

Woltman's imaginative paiting, regardless of the temperature of his artistic expression - the frantic vibrations of the poster, the erotic or dramatic aura of images or the contemplative nature of the illustrations, seems to constantly and tirelessly attempt to grasp some universal knowledge about ourselves by searching for the truth about the human body as an indispensable way we express ourselves in the world.
